What We Believe

WE BELIEVE

…the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for all Christian teaching and living.

…in the Triune God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost; three persons but yet one God.

…that God created all things by His Word and provides us with everything to support us in our daily lives.

…that God loved the world so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to be one of us, to live a perfect life for us, to die on the cross for our sins, and then raised Him from the dead, thus destroying death, hell and the power of the devil; so that whoever believes and trusts in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.

…God gives us His Holy Spirit, who creates faith in our hearts and empowers us to love God and others through a life of service, through love, and in our vocations.

…that all men are sinners and that we cannot save ourselves.

…that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone, revealed in Scripture alone.

…that through God’s Holy Word and Sacraments, Holy Baptism and Holy Communion, the Holy Spirit gives us faith to believe and power to live confidently in the possession of Christ’s forgiveness of sins, eternal life, and salvation.

…that Jesus will come at the end of time to be the righteous Judge of all. When He comes, Jesus will raise all the dead from their graves and give everlasting life to all who believe in Him. All unbelievers will go away with the devil and his angels where there is everlasting torment.

…that God gives us His mission to spread the Gospel to all people, in Mena, our surrounding communities, our state, our country, our world!
